About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Spa Manager to oversee the daily operations, team management, and guest experience at Tonic Spa. This role is ideal for a proactive leader with a strong background in scheduling, hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management while ensuring the seamless execution of spa services. The Spa Manager will play a pivotal role in maintaining operational excellence, staff development, and high service standards.

This role will begin as part-time, with an opportunity to transition into a full-time leadership position as the business expands.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of Wellness Concierges, Receptionists, Attendants and Practitioners to ensure exceptional service.
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, and development of new team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and corrective action plans as needed.
  • Foster a positive, high-performance culture with strong communication and accountability.

Scheduling & Operational Oversight

  • Manage and optimize staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage while balancing operational efficiency.
  • Handle time-off requests, shift swaps, and last-minute coverage needs.
  • Monitor daily spa operations, ensuring smooth execution of bookings and treatments.
  • Uphold health, safety, and facility maintenance standards, ensuring a clean and welcoming spa environment.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and housekeeping to address facility needs promptly.

Guest Experience & Service Excellence

  • Lead by example in delivering a best-in-class guest experience.
  • Act as a point of contact for guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback, resolving issues promptly.
  • Maintain high service standards across all touchpoints, from reception to treatment rooms.

Business Growth & Sales Support

  • Assist in driving service bookings, memberships, and retail sales through guest engagement and education.
  • Implement strategies to increase utilization, guest retention, and revenue.
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics, reporting insights to the Spa Director.

Strategic & Operational Execution

  • Support the rollout and implementation of strategic and operational initiatives to improve efficiency, guest experience, and business growth.
  • Collaborate with the Spa Director and leadership team to execute new services, policies, and procedural enhancements.
  • Monitor the success of initiatives and provide ongoing feedback for refinement and improvement.
  • Ensure that team members are properly trained and aligned with new initiatives, standards, and best practices.

Administrative & Financial Support

  • Oversee inventory management and ordering of spa supplies and retail products.
  • Support payroll tracking, reporting, and financial reconciliation as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with spa policies, industry regulations, and company standards.
  • Other “ad-hoc” duties necessary to make S&T successful (a.k.a “other duties as assigned”)

About You:

  • 2+ years of spa, wellness, or hospitality management experience.
  • Proven ability to hire, train, schedule, and lead teams in a service-focused environment.
  • Strong understanding of spa operations, luxury hospitality, and guest experience standards.
  • Proficiency in spa booking software (Mariana Tek Jane, or similar preferred).
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.
  • CPR, First Aid certification & Pool Operator Certifications (or willingness to obtain).
