We are seeking an ambitious and dedicated Spa Manager who is looking for a career-defining move to be the driving force behind bringing this unique vision to life. 

Hitting the ground running, you’ll work closely with construction, operations and supplier teams to bring this exceptional space to life for opening this fall. During this time, you will also prioritize the hiring, onboarding and training of your opening team of practitioners and front-of-house staff. 

Once established, as the head of the spa team, you’ll ensure that all spa experiences – from the routine administration of biohacking technology to the highly personalized experiences of RMT, Hydrafacial, chiropractic, physio and acupuncture – are executed at the highest possible level. Additionally, you’ll oversee the daily management of a 50-foot saltwater lap pool, private hot/cold cycle room, sauna, hot tub and cold plunge showers.

In future years, as the head of the department, you’ll be challenged alongside a fast growing management team to take ownership of growing brand awareness, revenue, and profitability. as the head of department. You’ll level up through creative thinking and product ideation, always staying ahead of the curve and true to the mission to upgrade state-of-the-art technology, making periodic recommendations for innovation and investment. You’ll coach and improve the performance of your team of employees and practitioners, creating a culture of high-performance that suceeds and celebrates together. 

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Ensure all spa operations are executed at the highest quality, and in a cost-effective way that aligns with S&T’s premium brand standards.
• Recruit and manage a spa team capable of delivering excellence across a wide variety of disciplines (7 treatment rooms) 
• Research regulations for a variety of technologies and disciplines and ensure constant and highest levels of safety and compliance 
• Undertake regular performance checks on practitioners either first-hand or with the help of “secret shoppers”
• Use data on a daily basis to make informed decisions to drive revenue and efficiency
• Establish and maintain relationships with spa retail partners
• Perform quality controls and monitor KPIs for the spa department.
• Work closely with fitness and operations departments to ensure that Tonic Spa fits seamlessly within the overall member and guest experience, including the digital buyer and booking journeys 
• Improve operational management systems and processes, and incorporate industry best practices.
• Produce a holistic set of spa SOPs in the form of a digital best practices manual based on past experience and evolving industry trends 
• Purchase materials, plan inventory, and oversee utilization efficiency
• Help the organization’s processes remain legally compliant
• Participate in annual strategic planning, and formulate and deliver on strategic initiatives
• Examine financial data and use it to improve profitability
• Manage budgets and forecasts
• Report on monthly financial and operating performance
• Lead the spa team, fostering a collaborative coaching environment
• Find ways to continuously enhance the quality of customer service and guest experience
• Other “ad-hoc” duties necessary to make S&T successful (a.k.a “other duties as assigned”)
• Qualifications
• Luxury spa/wellness brand experience and/or clinical experience mandatory
• A minimum of 3 years of experience leading operations for a brand known for its client experience; experience in fitness, hospitality or retail is desirable
• University degree in Business; a concentration/certification in Operations Management or related field is desirable
• Practitioner qualification and experience in spa treatment delivery is desirable 
• Experience in a start-up environment is desirable
• Proven success in organizational effectiveness is desirable
• Experience budgeting and forecasting is desirable
• Ability to demonstrate excellent leadership and people management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven ability to operate effectively in high pressure environments with ambiguity and can demonstrate prior experience in strategic “pivots”
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Ability to problem solve, minimize risks and overcome obstacles
• Self-motivated, team-oriented, and personally interested in health, fitness and wellness
