We are currently recruiting for Events Support Staff to join our fast-growing and dynamic team.  S&T regularily hosts community and private events for groups of up to 120 guests, Events Support Staff will work closely with Sales & Events Manager, Operations Management Team, Bartenders, Back of House teams as well as external vendors such as caterers and event planners to ensure that events at Sweat and Tonic run smoothly and go above and beyond client's and guests' expecatations. 

Shifts will be irregular and will vary on the needs and seasonality of the business. Late night hours may be required depending on the event. Applicants should have adequate transport plans to return home as late as 2am. 

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Sales & Events Manager, Events Support Staff will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the overall cleanliness and safety of the event space including washrooms, foyer space and bar
  • Support bartenders in set up and tear down of the bar, stocking bar ingredients and ice as needed throughout the duration of the event
  • Assist in removing and/or rearranging furniture as required for an event as well as set up DJ booth and speakers
  • Serve drinks or food as required
  • Clearing of glasses, plates, silverware and garbage
  • Coordinating with Sales & Events Manager, bartenders, other team members or external vendors as needed to meet client's expectations and requests
  • Other support roles and responsibilities as required for the successful execution of the event as indicated by the Sales & Events Manager

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Strong communication and team working skills, with experience working in a team of at least 4 people
  • 2+ years of experience in food and beverage, hospitality or events industries
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment with mutiple responsibilties 
  • Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays as required
  • Certificate in Food Handlers Safety and/or Smart Serve preferred
