We are currently recruiting for Food and Beverage Manager to join our fast-growing and dynamic team. The Food and Beverage Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Sweat and Tonic’s  F&B experience at two locations, the second of which is scheduled to open in October 2023. The role is responsible for growing Sweat and Tonic’s cocktail bar at two locations, creating a food offering to support beverage sales, working with our sales and events team to coordinate and manage the private function team and catering as well as working closely with current Food and Beverage partners at S&T to ensure the guest experience of all partnered brands is aligned to deliver excellence. 

This position requires an F&B leader with experience in food menu development for a wellness focused audience who is also comfortable spearheading a hot, cold, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage program suitable for day and nighttime audiences and can adapt offerings to deliver the needs of small and large private group functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Food and Beverage Manager will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day leadership of the front of house food and beverage operation beginning with one location, expanding to two within the first year of employment.  
  • Create a food menu to support Tonic Bar beverage sales. 
  • Create seasonal cocktail menus, develop daily specials to drive alcoholic and non-alcoholic sales. 
  • Develop relationships with local suppliers to meet COG targets, deliver excellent product at the desired price point. 
  • Responsible for building, training and managing a team to deliver guest experience that exceeds expectations in all product categories.
  • Lead by example working in front-line positions to impart knowledge and experience of best practices and processes to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
  • Report weekly on monthly on COG and revenue targets. Develop strategies and initiatives  to incrementally improve performance in a timely manner. 
  • Responsible for ensuring all events are executed as per the event Order and meet the client's needs, including adjusting service to meet last-minute requests.
  • Develop, train, communicate and reinforce the service vision and standards to team members and coach them in supporting the successful execution of the vision.
  • Consistently display exceptional leadership by providing a positive work environment, counseling team members as appropriate, and demonstrating a dedicated and professional approach to managing a team.
  • Develop inventory management systems and processes for food and beverage product. 
  • Demonstrate a high level of commitment to processes that allow team members to provide service that is aligned with our vision of creating exceptional experiences.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A dedicated and passionate specialist comfortable in the day-to-day hustle and bustle of FOH operations as well as proficiency presenting and analysing numbers and strategy in a management environment. 
  • Experience working as a food and beverage leader, preferably within a wellness environment. 
  • Food and beverage background with strong focus in food, menu engineering and development and high level of beverage proficiency. 
  • Barista experience and training proficiency. 
  • Catering and events background. 
  • Experience managing teams of up to 15. 
  • Multi-unit management experience. 
  • Brings a hands-on approach to training and a leadership style committed to developing and motivating the team to attain a superior level of guest service;
  • Strong computer skills, with knowledge of G-suite, particularly Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills;
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment-maintaining composure and objectivity with guests and team members;
  • Available to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as required.

Salary

  • $50k - $75k dependent on experience
